Another Islanders Defenseman Lands On The Injured Reserve

The New York Islanders' defense can't seem to stay healthy all at the same time as Sebastian Aho, an everyday player, has now landed on the injured reserve. He joins Adam Pelech, who will be out longer term. The team had already claimed Mike Reilly off of waivers from the Florida Panthers to help fill in the hole.

Aho is the third pairing defenseman for the Islanders and has four assists in 19 games while playing just over 14 minutes a game. This won't be extremely difficult for Reilly to cover for in his absence and should give the new Islander a chance to prove he belongs in the NHL still.

In two games this season, Reilly has averaged almost the exact same time on ice, but he and Samuel Bolduc will likely be very limited in minutes moving forward unless they can prove to be effective. This upper-body injury for Aho shouldn't keep him out very long, but his timetable is currently unknown.
