Blackhawks' Andreas Athanasiou Given Bad Injury News
The Chicago Blackhawks have been handed some tough injury news, as forward Andreas Athanasiou will be out week-to-week due to a lower-body injury.
Athanasiou missed the Blackhawks' last contest against the Florida Panthers, and now we have a better understanding of how much time he is going to miss. Unfortunately, with Athanasiou being listed as week-to-week, he is going to be out for a handful of games at least, it seems.
This is tough news for Athanasiou in what has been a tough season for him. In 11 games on the campaign thus far, he has four assists to go along with a minus-5 rating. The Blackhawks expect more from him, as he had 20 goals and 40 points in 81 games just last season.
Here's to hoping that Athanasiou has a speedy recovery and can get back into game action soon. When he does, it also will be interesting to see if his production starts to jump back up.
