Blue Jackets' Damon Severson Leaves Game Injured
The Columbus Blue Jackets suffered their ninth straight loss tonight (Nov. 19), losing 5-2 to the Philadelphia Flyers. That was not even the worst news, however, as defenseman Damon Severson left the game early after suffering an upper-body injury.
Severson was one of the Blue Jackets' top additions this past offseason and one of their top defensemen. Due to this, it will be bad news for the Blue Jackets if he needs to miss time because of this injury.
Severson has had a decent start to his tenure as a Blue Jacket, posting three goals, eight points, and a plus-2 rating. Overall, he has provided solid offense from the start and, surprisingly, is not a minus player on a disastrous Blue Jackets club right now.
We will now need to wait and see how much time Severson has to miss from here. Hopefully, taking him out of the game was only precautionary and that he will be good to go shortly.
