Blue Jackets Place Emil Bemstrom On Waivers

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Emil Bemstrom on waivers.

This Bemstrom waiver placement comes after the Blue Jackets lost their sixth straight game to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Nov. 14. As a result, changes are needed right now on their roster, and Bemstrom is the latest victim of that.

In 12 games this season with the Blue Jackets, Bemstrom has three goals, one assist, and a minus-7 rating. Over his last six games, he had one assist to go along with a minus-6 rating.

Teams looking to add some forward depth could consider the prospect of claiming Bemstrom, as he carries an affordable $900,000 cap hit and had 22 points in 55 games last season.

We will now need to wait and see if Bemstrom finds a new home tomorrow (Nov. 16) from here. If not, he will be heading to the AHL.
