Blue Jackets' Damon Severson Out Long-Term
The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that defenseman Damon Severson will be out for six weeks due to an oblique injury.
Severson left the Blue Jackets' contest against the Philadelphia Flyers on Nov. 19, and now we have a better understanding of how much time he will need to miss. Unfortunately, the update is a bad one.
The Blue Jackets have had an absolutely brutal 2023-24 season thus far, and things have not been getting any better. They currently are on a nine-game losing streak, and now they are set to be without one of their best defensemen for several weeks. This is certainly bad news for a Blue Jackets team looking to turn things back around.
In 19 games this season so far, Severson has three goals, eight points, and a plus-1 rating.
We will now need to wait and see how well Severson's recovery goes from here. Here's to hoping that he suffers no setbacks and can back on the ice in six weeks.
