Blue Jackets Rumors: Patrik Laine Trade Chatter Picking Up

Since being healthy scratched by the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier this month, Patrik Laine has generated some buzz as a possible trade candidate. Now, more fuel has been added to that fire, as Laine has been listed on The Athletic's most recent trade board.

Chris Johnston noted that "no one outside of the organization's most prized young players and prospects is considered untouchable," so they certainly could hear offers for Laine. At this juncture, a change of scenery may be best for the player and the team. However, at the same time, the Blue Jackets will need a good offer to truly consider moving on from a star talent like Laine.

Laine has had a very slow start to the season, posting just three goals and five points in his first 13 games. However, given his skill level, he should heat up soon, which will only increase interest in his services.
