Boston Bruins Rumors: 2 Centers Linked on Trade Market
The Boston Bruins have surprised many this season as they haven't skipped a beat despite both Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retiring. The B's have been led by their goaltending as Linus Ullmark and Jeremy Swayman are off to a historic start and appear not to be slowing down anytime soon.
According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, while there isn't a rush to make a deal at this point considering where the Bruins sit in the standings, and the fact they've only lost one game in regulation, Boston will be scrolling the trade market to see what centres are available closer to the March trade deadline.
Two names to keep an eye on include Scott Laughton of the Philadelphia Flyers and Calgary Flames centre Elias Lindholm. Lindholm is a pending unrestricted free agent and Flames GM Craig Conroy is open for business and will likely move all of his pending free agents. Laughton on the other hand is signed through the 2025-26 season at just $3 million, however the Flyers aren't likely going to move him if they continue to win hockey games.
Laughton and Lindholm are very different players, however both have been known to be defensively sound with Laughton the much more physical of the two and Lindholm much more productive offensively.
Keep an eye on the Bruins, if they land another impact forward to their already stellar squad, they could make some serious noise in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, everyone thought that would be the case last season.
