Things have not been great for the Sens off the ice, as restricted free agent Shane Pinto was recently handed a 41-game suspension for violating gambling rules. With that, the Sens also lost a first-round pick earlier today (Nov. 1) as a punishment for the previous Evgeni Dadonov no-trade list debacle. Now, the Sens are continuing to make headlines with this Dorion news.
This is a big change for the Senators, as Dorion had been the general manager of the club for eight years. However, now with the team appearing to be on the rise, the Sens are set to go in a different direction and start a new era.
David Pagnotta is also reporting that Peter Chiarelli is generating some buzz as a potential GM replacement for Dorion. We will need to wait and see if something comes from that...
