Grzelcyk suffered an upper-body injury back on October 30th, after having earned some praise from head coach Jim Montgomery at the time for his recent play, both at 5x5 paired with Charlie McAvoy, and on the penalty kill.
Over 87 minutes paired together this season, the Bruins held a 3-1 edge in goals scored when Grzelcyk and McAvoy were on the ice.
With Grzelcyk's return, the B's have assigned defenseman Mason Lohrei back down to Providence of the AHL, along with forward Patrick Brown.
The 29-year-old left-shot Grzelcyk had recorded one goal in nine games, with a plus 2 rating. Lohrei had 4 points in 10 games but with a minus-3 rating. The Bruins went 6-2-2 in Grzelcyk's 10 games missed.
