Calgary Flames Are Open to Several Trade Scenarios

The Calgary Flames are open for business and GM Craig Conroy has been busy of late, working the phones, listening to trade calls on all of his pending unrestricted free agents. There's even been some chatter about team's contacting the Flames about Jonathan Huberdeau as well, but so far these talks haven't gotten anywhere as they appear to want to work things out with 'Hubby' in Calgary.

Conroy has defensemen Noah Hanifin, Chris Tanev and Nikita Zadorov to move, the latter already asking for a trade after a recent loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Then there's Elias Lindholm up front and needless to say, there's going to be some significant changes happening in Calgary this season.

The Flames haven't met expectations and the re-tooling will begin soon. It's apparently not a rebuild and nobody is using this word around Calgary but more so, a re-tool, as they look to find NHL talent who is ready to step into the lineup immediately.

There's also a chance Daniel Vladar gets moved as well as the organization has Dustin Wolf waiting in the wings and haven't been able to find him any consistent minutes in the show.

So far Hanifin has been linked to the Arizona Coyotes, Lindholm to the Carolina Hurricanes and Tanev and Zadorov have both been linked to the Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and New Jersey Devils.

Pierre LeBrun of The Athletic recently confirmed Conroy's intentions in Calgary.
