Calgary Flames Place Jordan Oesterle On Waivers

The Calgary Flames have placed defenseman Jordan Oesterle on waivers.

There were rumblings that the Flames were going to place one of their veteran players on waivers, and they have opted to put Oesterle on the wire. The 31-year-old defenseman has made four appearances for the Flames, where he has zero points to go along with a minus-2 rating.

Oesterle is a decent depth defenseman who can handle playing bottom-pairing minutes, so there is a chance that he could get some attention while on the waiver wire. He has an affordable $925,000 cap hit as well, so teams dealing with some injury on the blueline could consider taking a chance on him.

Overall, the Flames have had a slow start to the season, so it makes sense that they are making a change to their group. We will now need to wait and see if another team ends up snagging Oesterle off of waivers from here.
