Flyers Rumors: Insider Names 2 Players On Trade Block

The Philadelphia Flyers are hitting the trade market, looking to make some moves. But not as a sell-off and not as an "all-in" move either. That's the word from TSN Insider Darren Dreger who had this to say about Philly's eagerness to swing a deal:

I can tell you that they're interested and eager in becoming a wheeler and dealer. But that's not because they're trying to sell off assets, it's because they want to build a stronger foundation for the future. And they're willing to listen on every position—not every player—but every position. They feel like they've got the assets to move.

In particular, Dreger points to two blueliners who could very well be had for the right price:

I’m looking at a couple of veteran D-men, I’m looking at Nick Seeler and Sean Walker. These guys are 29-30 years of age, they’re in the 20+ range in terms of the minutes they can consume as depth defensemen. I think (Flyers GM) Danny Briere is going to continue to get the interest on those two guys.

Seeler, a 6'2", 205-pound left-shot D, already has a plus 10 this season in just 19 games, along with four assists. He's playing just over 16 minutes a night.

Walker, 5'11", 195, is a right-shot blueliner who spent the previous five years with the Los Angeles Kings. He's soaking up over 21 minutes per game, while adding 10 points, with a plus 6, all stats that would be career highs.
