Flyers Rumors: Latest On Owen Tippett's Future in Philadelphia
According to Anthony Di Marco of The Fourth Period, the Philadelphia Flyers are open to signing forward Owen Tippett to a long-term contract extension. Di Marco noted that Brandon Hagel's eight-year, $6.5 million AAV deal as a comparable contract.
Tippett has emerged as a key part of the Flyers' roster, so it is not particularly surprising to hear that they are looking to sign him to a contract extension. He is a player who they should be looking to build around, as he is emerging as a strong part of their top-six forward group.
Tippett scored a career-high 27 goals and posted 49 points in 77 games played. So far this season with the Orange and Black in 2023-24, he has two goals to go along with six points in 12 games played.
We will now need to wait and see if the Flyers end up signing Tippett to an extension soon from here. Given his importance to the club, do not be surprised if something occurs.
