Huge News For NY Rangers Lineup

It's been a tough 24 hours for the New York Rangers; Monday night's 5-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres has been followed by news of LTIR placements for two regulars. But it appears some good news is also on the way, and that Monday night's loss will be their last game without top defenseman Adam Fox in the lineup.

The Rangers have sent D-man Connor Mackey down to the AHL Tuesday morning, which, combined with the fact that Fox officially became a full participant in practice this week, is a pretty clear indication that the Norris Trophy runner-up will be activated for tomorrow's game.

Fox has ditched the red non-contact jersey this week, and he's eligible to return to the Blueshirts' blueline for Wednesday night's clash with Patrick Kane's new team, the Detroit Red Wings.

A knee-on-knee collision back on Nov. 2nd with Carolina's Sebastian Aho knocked the top defenseman out of the lineup. The Rangers haven't missed a beat, however, going 7-2-1 in his absence.

"It’s nice to have him out there competing without any restrictions. I thought he looked good,” said head coach Peter Laviolette.

So while the team has been hit with some bad updates on other injury fronts, the news on Fox is all good.
