Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen Out Indefinitely

The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that goaltender Frederik Andersen indefinitely due to a blood clotting issue. However, general manager Don Waddell also said that the club is confident that Andersen will make a full recovery.

This news comes shortly after the club announced that they signed goaltender Jaroslav Halak to a professional tryout contract. Now, we have a better understanding as to why, and it is, unfortunately, due to some truly awful news.

Andersen has made six appearances this season for the Canes, where he has a 4-1-0 record to go along with a .894 save percentage (SV%) and a 2.87 goals-against average (GAA).

Halak will now look to earn a deal with the Canes as a potential backup option for the club while Andersen is sidelined. Halak is looking for career win number 300, so it would be great for him to get a contract from the club.
