Maple Leafs Call Up Defenseman With Mark Giordano Out
With Mark Giordano now sidelined, the Toronto Maple Leafs have called up defenseman Maxime Lajoie to their NHL roster.
Lajoie made one appearance for the Maple Leafs back on Nov. 4 against the Buffalo Sabres. During his lone contest as a Leaf, he had zero points and a minus-1 rating in 4:54 of playing time. Needless to say, it was a forgettable debut for the 26-year-old defenseman, and now he will be looking to make a bigger impact during this latest call-up.
The Maple Leafs are continuing to deal with injury trouble with their defensive group, so this has opened the door to another call-up for Lajoie. In 14 American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Toronto Marlies this season, he has zero goals, five assists, and a plus-6 rating.
We will need to wait and see how well Lajoie does during this latest call-up to the show from here.
