Maple Leafs Rumors: Latest On William Nylander Extension Talks

According to Pierre LeBrun, the Toronto Maple Leafs and William Nylander purposely want to keep extension talks private to avoid any potential leaks, and that talks are still ongoing. With that, LeBrun noted that if things were going wrong with negotiations, we would be hearing more.

Nylander is having a spectacular start to the season and is raising his value significantly in the process. During his current team-record 15-game season-opening point streak, he has 10 goals to go along with 22 points. Needless to say, he is a player who the Maple Leafs desperately want to keep around. 

Nylander is due for a big raise with how well he has played, and it appears that the Maple Leafs are willing to give it to him. We will now need to wait and see if these ongoing talks lead to a new deal between the two parties in the near future from here.
