Minnesota Wild Call Up Top Goalie Prospect
The Minnesota Wild have made some roster moves. Forward Frederick Gaudreau has been placed on long-term injured reserve (LTIR). With that, the Wild have called up top goalie prospect Jesper Wallstedt to the NHL squad.
The Wild are gearing up for their trip to Sweden and are bringing an extra goaltender in Wallstedt there because of it. This is a smart move by the Wild, as it will give them another option if an injury occurs during the trip or if they want to switch things up between the pipes.
Wallstedt, 20, has appeared in eight games this season with the Iowa Wild, where he has put together a 6-2-0 record, a 2.01 goals-against average (GAA), and a .932 save percentage (SV%). Overall, it has been an excellent start to his second AHL season, and now he is with the NHL club.
We will need to wait and see if the Wild end up giving Wallstedt a start during this call-up from here.
