Minnesota Wild Fire Dean Evason
The Minnesota Wild are making a change behind the bench, as they have fired head coach Dean Evason. Assistant coach Bob Woods has also been let go by the club.
The Wild have had a horrendous start to the season, and things have only been getting worse as of late. At the time of this writing, they have a 5-10-4 record and have lost seven straight games. For a team that was expected to compete for a playoff spot, this kind of start is entirely unacceptable, so it is not surprising to see them make these changes.
The Wild are now hoping that these changes behind the bench will provide them with a much-needed spark to help get their season back on track. However, if the losses continue to pile up with Evason gone, roster moves will likely be next.
In 251 games as head coach of the Wild, Evason put together a 147-77-27 record.
