NHL Rumors: Jaroslav Halak Generating Interest From Pacific Team
Earlier this week, the Carolina Hurricanes released goaltender Jaroslav Halak from his professional tryout contract. However, he has gotten some attention since, as the Edmonton Oilers have spoken to Halak, according to NHL insider Pierre LeBrun.

LeBrun also noted, however, that the Oilers have been looking at all potential goalie options, so nothing with Halak is imminent. This is understandable, as they were recently linked to Montreal Canadiens goaltenders Jake Allen, Sam Montembeault, and Cayden Primeau.
Halak should continue to get interest this season. He was a solid backup goalie for the Rangers last season and has plenty of experience. Due to this, don’t be surprised if he finds a new home at some point during the season, whether it is with the Oilers or elsewhere.
We will need to wait and see if the Oilers circle back on Halak from here.
