NHL Rumors: Red Wings Working On Michael Rasmussen Extension
In a recent edition of his 32 Thoughts column, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that the Detroit Red Wings have been having extension talks with forward Michael Rasmussen.
Rasmussen has become a nice part of the Red Wings’ forward group and seems to be improving each season that passes. Because of this and his increased role with the team, it makes sense that the Red Wings are looking to keep him around for a longer period of time.
After posting a career-high 29 points in only 58 games last season, Rasmussen has one goal, three points, 14 hits, and a plus-1 rating in 10 games played.
With Rasmussen being a player on the rise, the Red Wings are smart for wanting to get him signed sooner rather than later. We will need to wait and see if a new deal comes to fruition between the two parties soon.
