Philadelphia Flyers Provide Good Marc Staal Update

The Philadelphia Flyers are getting one of their veteran defensemen back, as Marc Staal has been activated off of injured reserve and is expected to play tomorrow night (Nov. 22) against the New York Islanders.

The Flyers added Staal in free agency this past summer to provide their defense with an experienced leader. The 17-year veteran had a strong season with the Florida Panthers in 2022-23, posting three goals, 15 points, and a plus-10 rating in 82 games. Now that he is healthy, Staal will look to be a solid defensive defenseman for the Flyers from here.

Staal has appeared in just four games for the Flyers this season, with his last appearance dating back to Oct. 19 against the Edmonton Oilers.

We will now need to wait and see how much of an impact Staal will make for the Flyers from here. He should give them a bit more stability on the back end.
