Rangers Rumors: Zac Jones Becoming Trade Candidate

New York Rangers defenseman Zac Jones has become the odd man out on the Blueshirts’ defensive group and has primarily been scratched this season. Due to this, he has been picking up some steam in the rumor mill, and he could end up on the move this season.

Jones is now eligible for waivers, so the Rangers did not send him down to the American Hockey League (AHL) to play for the Hartford Wolf Pack this season. Instead, he has barely played for the Rangers, and a move may benefit the young defenseman at this point because of it.

Rebuilding clubs looking to take a chance on a young defenseman with upside could call the Rangers about Jones. He has the tools to be a bottom-pairing defenseman, at least, and also can work on the power play.

Alas, we will now need to wait and see if Jones ends up being moved at some point during this season from here.
