San Jose Sharks Sign Justin Bailey
The San Jose Sharks have signed forward Justin Bailey to a one-year, two-way contract. At the NHL level, he will carry a $775,000 cap hit.
This signing comes after the Sharks placed fellow forward Filip Zadina on injured reserve.
Bailey signed a PTO with the Sharks during training camp and earned an AHL contract with the San Jose Barracuda after it. In 16 games with the AHL squad this season, he has six goals to go along with 11 points. That was good enough for him to earn a two-way deal with the Sharks, and now that opens the door to a potential call-up to the NHL roster.
In 82 career NHL games split between the Buffalo Sabres, Philadelphia Flyers, and Vancouver Canucks, Bailey has five goals, four assists, and a minus-11 rating. Let's see how much he can improve upon these career stats with the Sharks from here.
