Seattle Kraken Place One Of Their Top Forwards On IR
The Seattle Kraken have lost one of their top players this season for the time being to a lower-body injury. The injury to Jaden Schwartz occurred against the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 28 and upon being placed on the injured reserve, will miss at least the next three games for the Kraken.
This means Schwartz will be out of the lineup for the final three games of the team's four-game road trip when the Kraken play Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens. In terms of the strength of the teams, it is on the easier side and the Kraken may be able to come out of the games with two or more wins.
Schwartz is tied for third on the team in points this season with 15 in 23 games. He is nothing if not consistent and is on pace to have his best offensive season since 2019-20 with the St. Louis Blues. The Kraken will miss him from their lineup and his spot will have to be filled. This means the should-be second line of Alex Wennberg, Schwartz (injured), and Andre Burakovsky (injured) will be dropped to the third and play less. There aren't a ton of great replacements, but I can see Tye Kartye getting more ice time further up in the lineup.
