Senators Rumors: Latest On Shane Pinto Trade Talk

NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported in his most recent 32 Thoughts column that the Ottawa Senators are not planning to trade Shane Pinto once his suspension comes to a close.

Pinto was of course the subject of many trade rumors during the offseason and the beginning stages of the regular season, but things changed on that front rapidly when he was handed his massive suspension for breaking gambling rules. Now, with this development, we know that the Sens do not plan to move him elsewhere.

It is likely that Pinto is not going to demand an expensive contract after this suspension, and at this point, he should just look for any deal. He needs to show the Sens that he can put the distractions aside once he is eligible to return and have a strong season in the process.

Nevertheless, one center trade candidate is off the board. Let's see how Pinto does this season once he gets back into the lineup for the Sens.
