Toronto Maple Leafs Demote 2 Players
The Toronto Maple Leafs have sent Bobby McMann and Simon Benoit back down to the Toronto Marlies.
McMann was recently called up to the NHL club to try to provide a spark to their bottom six. He made his season debut with the Maple Leafs on Nov. 11 against the Vancouver Canucks and posted two assists. However, in his next two appearances for the Maple Leafs at the Global Series, he was held off the scoresheet.
Benoit, on the other hand, has been on the NHL roster since early November. Over that time, he appeared in five games, where he has zero points and a plus-2 rating.
These demotions likely mean that the Maple Leafs are gearing up to activate another player, potentially Conor Timmins. We will to wait and see how these two perform back with the Marlies from here.
