Vancouver Canucks Place Forward On IR; Recall Two Players

The Vancouver Canucks have placed forward Pius Suter on injured reserve, as announced by the team's General Manager, Patrik Allvin.

This move comes as a retroactive decision, with Suter last playing in a game on November 12 against the Montreal Canadiens. Since that match, he has been listed as day-to-day due to an undisclosed injury.

In his 15 games with the Canucks this season, Suter managed to score four goals, showing his potential as a valuable player for the team.

Over his NHL career spanning 231 games, he has tallied 47 goals and 44 assists, totaling 91 points.

Head coach Rick Tocchet emphasized Suter's importance to the team, noting his ability to stabilize the game during critical moments.

Suter, in his first season with the Canucks, had been integrating well into the team's dynamics. Though he returned to practice with the team on Tuesday, it was reported that his injury was reaggravated later that night.

Coach Tocchet expressed hope for Suter's day-to-day status and anticipated his return in the upcoming games.

Notably, Suter has shown an uptick in his performance, scoring three goals in his last five appearances before the injury.

Forward Nils Aman and defenseman Cole McWard have been recalled from the Canucks' AHL affiliate.
