Vancouver Canucks Rumors: 3 Landing Spots for Conor Garland

The Vancouver Canucks have surprised many so far this season as they've started the year 7-2-1, good for second in the division. While there's been a number of storylines on the ice, with several Canucks having bounce-back starts to the season, there's also been quite the storyline brewing off the ice.

The Canucks gave Conor Garland and his agent permission to speak to other teams several weeks ago and the trade talks have continued throughout the past couple of weeks. Garland is essentially being pushed out of the door in Vancouver as he's under contract for two more seasons at $4.95 million and with only one goal and three points in 10 games, the Canucks are no longer interested in overpaying the pesky forward.

Garland has been in the trade rumor mill for a second straight season and was reportedly being shopped throughout times last season. Needless to say, Garland needs a change of scenery and a fresh start with an organization that values his contributions.

The Columbus Blue Jackets, Nashville Predators and Buffalo Sabres have all contacted the Garland's reps and have advanced trade talks to different points.  Offers, counter offers, rejections, the talks continue as Garland looks to move on and start fresh with his third organization. Vancouver wants to come out of the trade with significant cap savings so we'll see what the return will be in any deal, but frankly it could be just a mid-round pick.

The former Arizona Coyotes fifth-round pick has appeared in 332 career games, recording 197 points. He does not hold any trade protection and can be moved at will.
