Vegas Golden Knights Lose Key Defenseman To Surgery

A brutal break for the Vegas Golden Knights' blueline, as they have lost top defenseman Shea Theodore for a considerable period, after undergoing surgery.

Theodore is now considered "week-to-week" after the procedure on an upper-body injury. He last played on Nov. 22nd, and the Golden Knights are winless without him in three games since.

The 28-year-old was off to a tremendous start to the season, leaving a huge void on the Vegas blueline. Theodore had 18 points in 20 games, a career-high pace, while logging a personal-high 23:23 in ice time per night.

He has been a Top Six defenseman in Norris Trophy balloting twice in recent years and only a 27-game absence to injury might have kept him out of similar recognition last season.

In a stellar 7-year career, Theodore has 265 points in 417 games, with a plus-65 rating. In last year's run to the Stanley Cup title, he posted 13 points in 21 playoff games.
