Wild Rumors: Pat Maroon Becoming Trade Candidate
The Minnesota Wild are having a tough start to the season. If they do not turn things around, they could end up being sellers this season, and one player who is standing out as a potential trade candidate because of it is Pat Maroon.
Maroon has had a very strong start to the season with the Wild, and if he continues to play well, interest in him should be high. With that, playoff teams are always looking to add toughness and grit, and Maroon is, of course, famous for that. With that, he also had three Stanley Cup championships on his resume, so that only heightens to his overall appeal.
As we get closer to the deadline, we should not be surprised if the Wild end up shopping Maroon if they do not improve soon. He is in the final season of his contract and would be a great rental to bring in.
We will now need to wait and see what happens with Maroon from here. Some teams who could target him include the Toronto Maple Leafs, LA Kings, New York Rangers, and Vancouver Canucks.
