Wild's Upcoming UFA Forward Rumored To Be On The Move

Before the Minnesota Wild's recent coaching change, they had lost seven games in a row and were near the bottom of the league. This team, though still in a cap crunch, were expected to compete like they always do. Goaltending was great last season, but is horribly worse this season, while there are still obvious depth issues because of the lack of money.

The Wild have been a team that makes the playoffs, but fails to make it out of the first round, not accomplishing anything. This may finally be an indication that they need to rework their team a bit. It is very difficult for a team to pull themselves out of a big hole in the NHL, especially with the loser point.

The Wild have some players that they could move, the most likely being Brandon Duhaime. The 26-year-old was drafted by the Wild in 2016 and is on a one-year, $1.1 million AAV deal. He is a gritty and physical bottom-six player that doesn't produce a ton. He has four goals this season, but no assists. Last season he finished with nine goals and one assist. The Wild won't get very much for him, but can afford to move on from him for an upgrade next season if they are going to sell.
