Blue Jackets Rumors: Goalie Named As Trade Candidate

Due to a brutal start to the season, the Columbus Blue Jackets look like prime sellers for this season. Some of their players have been picking up steam in the rumor mill, but a new name is now picking up some trade chatter – Elvis Merzlikins.

The Bleacher Report released their latest NHL Trade Block Board, and Merzlikins made the cut, along with teammate Spencer Martin. With multiple teams needing a goaltender, the Blue Jackets stand a pretty good chance of landing a nice return for Merzlikins if they officially shop him.

After a tough 2022-23 season, Merzlikins has bounced back nicely this campaign. In 18 games, he has a .911 save percentage (SV%), which shows that he has been quite consistent.

We will now need to wait and see if the Blue Jackets decide to move Merzlikins during this season from here.
