Canucks Rumors: Metro Team Linked to Andrei Kuzmenko

While speaking on a recent episode of The Jeff Marek Show, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman shared that he believes that the Washington Capitals are a team who have shown interest in Vancouver Canucks winger Andrei Kuzmenko.

However, immediately after sharing this info, Friedman noted that he does not see a trade working there, as the Caps do not have the cap space to bring in Kuzmenko without moving salary, and the Canucks won't be willing to add the struggling Anthony Mantha.

Yet, with the Capitals expressing interest in Kuzmenko, they could look to find a way to move out salary elsewhere before bringing him in. However, with the way the Caps are playing, they may not want to make too many notable subtractions to their group to bring in Kuzmenko.

We will now need to wait and see if anything comes from the Caps' interest in Kuzmenko. It is clear that they need a scoring winger, but they also have other potential options on the trade market who would be cheaper to afford than Kuzmenko.
