Flames Rumors: A.J. Greer Becoming Trade Candidate

The Calgary Flames are expected to be one of the biggest sellers in the NHL this season. Elias Lindholm, Chris Tanev, and Noah Hanifin are all expected to be moved, but another player on their roster who could be traded by the deadline is winger A.J. Greer.

Greer is a pending UFA who could be a nice addition to a playoff team’s fourth line before the deadline passes. He plays a very heavy game, which is great for the playoffs. With that, he also can chip in every so often offensively, so he’s a decent fourth-line forward option for clubs to target.

If the Flames end up struggling more as the year carries on, don’t be shocked if the Flames actively shop Greer. While he may not bring in the biggest return, they still could get a draft pick or prospect for him.

In 30 games this season, Greer has five goals to go along with nine points.
