Islanders Rumors: Veteran Forward Named as Trade Candidate
We are now in December, which means trade talk around the NHL is starting to pick up some steam. Due to this, NHL insider Frank Seravalli released his latest trade board at Daily Faceoff, and one interesting name who made the cut is veteran right winger Cal Clutterbuck.
Trade winds are beginning to blow across #NHL, exactly 100 days out from the March 8 trade deadline.#Canucks, #Isles, #Oilers, #LeafsForever all in mix - but are there enough trade partners?

Seravalli noted that the Islanders will likely shop Clutterbuck at the trade deadline if they still are not a playoff team as we inch closer to March. Although Clutterbuck is a fan favorite, he is also a veteran winger on an expiring deal who would generate plenty of attention from playoff teams. He is an effective bottom-six forward who plays a very physical game. In other words, he is exactly the kind of player to get for the postseason.
Clutterbuck could get the Islanders a decent draft pick if officially shopped at the deadline, and we will need to wait and see if they do just that from here. Some clubs who could consider snagging him include the Vancouver Canucks, Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Detroit Red Wings.
