Kings Lose Gavrikov Long-Term To Injury
The surging Los Angeles Kings got bad news from their training staff today as defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov, who was injured in a knee on knee collision, would be out for a while. He was injured in the Kings' game against the New York Rangers on Sunday and is listed as week-to-week.
This should mean that Gavrikov is out for over a week at minimum or he would be listed as day-to-day. Sometimes injuries like these could sideline a player for a while, such is the case for a player on the Kings' opponents tonight, Kyle Connor of the Winnipeg Jets. This player was also put out from a knee on knee collision and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. The hope for the Kings is that Gavrikov returns sooner, but there isn't a clear timetable yet.
The Kings rank third in the Pacific Division, but have lost two games in a row. Fortunately for Los Angeles, their upcoming schedule isn't very difficult through Christmas as they play the Seattle Kraken and San Jose Sharks twice each and the Calgary Flames along with their opponents in the Jets. Taking Gavrikov's spot in the lineup for right now is Jacob Moverare. This could change if things aren't working out great.
