Montreal Canadiens Key Defenseman Set to Return
The Montreal Canadiens have been dealing with serious injury trouble this season, but now one of their key defensemen is returning. The team has announced that David Savard will be in the lineup tonight (Dec. 10) against the Nashville Predators tonight.
It has been a long recovery for Savard, but he is now finally ready to return to game action. The veteran defenseman has been out of action for over a month and played his last game on Oct. 23 against the Buffalo Sabres.
Savard will once again give the Canadiens' blue line more steadiness, leadership, and physicality. With the Canadiens playing meaningful hockey at this stage of the season, getting Savard back is huge news. He is a big part of their top four to go along with their penalty kill.
With Savard now being activated, the Canadiens have sent down fellow defenseman Mattias Norlinder to the Laval Rocket. The 23-year-old defenseman had been with the team for a bit but did not make an appearance for the NHL club this season.
