NHL Rumors: Coyotes Interested In Oilers Defenseman

The Arizona Coyotes have recently shown a keen interest in acquiring defenseman Cody Ceci from the Edmonton Oilers, according to Rob Ellis of NHL Trade Rumor.com.

In their ongoing pursuit of bolstering their defensive roster, Ceci has emerged as a cost-effective and dependable solution.

Ceci has been decent so far this season, featuring six assists and a +6 plus-minus rating in 23 games, highlighting his effectiveness on both ends of the ice, making him an attractive target for the Coyotes.

Ceci's potential acquisition not only addresses the Coyotes' immediate defensive needs but also aligns well with their financial considerations.

Armed with a substantial number of draft picks in the upcoming 2024 NHL draft, the Coyotes have the resources to negotiate.

On the other side of the trade equation, the Oilers could dump $3 million in salary cap space, granting some freedom to search for roster improvements elsewhere.

Over his 11-year career, the 30-year-old has scored 43 goals and 192 total points across 730 games played.
