Oilers Rumors: Forward Likely to Be Moved
NHL insider Frank Seravalli released his most recent trade targets board for Daily Faceoff this week. While it had some of the expected names like Elias Lindholm, Noah Hanifin, and Jake Allen, one somewhat surprising player who was also brought up was Edmonton Oilers winger Warren Foegele.
Trade winds are beginning to blow across #NHL, exactly 100 days out from the March 8 trade deadline.#Canucks, #Isles, #Oilers, #LeafsForever all in mix - but are there enough trade partners?

Seravalli brought up the Oilers are looking to make changes to their roster but also do not have much cap space to work with. Due to this, he views Foegele as a prime trade candidate, as moving him would free up $2.75 million of cap space, if they do not retain any of his salary, of course.
There’s no question that there would be a market for Foegele if he is officially shopped. He is an effective third-line winger who produces decently offensively and plays a physical game.
It will be interesting to see if the Oilers decide to move on from Foegele this season. It is apparent that they need to make some changes to their roster, so moving on from Foegele’s contract would be worthwhile.
