Ottawa Senators Given Brutal Injury News
The Ottawa Senators have been dealt some bad injury news, as defenseman Thomas Chabot has been placed on long-term injured reserve due to a leg injury. With that, he will also be out for at least four weeks but does not need surgery, according to NHL insider Darren Dreger.
The injury bug has not been kind to Chabot this season, as this is now his second long injury of the season. The 2015 first-round pick missed over a month of action before returning to the Sens on Dec. 1. Now, after just two games played since his first injury, he is once again out long-term.
Chabot has played in nine games this season, where he has four assists to go along with an even rating.
With the Senators looking to get back into the playoff race, losing one of their best defensemen for multiple weeks certainly is not good news. Let's see how they respond with Chabot out of their lineup from here.
