Laine had already had a rough start to the season performance-wise, even being healthy scratched at one time. He has six goals and three assists for nine points in 18 games, but was just starting to come around, having collected points in five of his last six games.
Laine, of course, is no stranger to injury troubles. He hasn't played more than 56 games in a season since 2020. Now, it'll be sometime in February before he's able to return to the Blue Jackets' lineup.
The No. 2 overall pick by the Winnipeg Jets in 2016, he has recorded 204 goals, 184 assists and 388 points in 480 NHL games.
