Penguins Rumors: Goalie Becoming Trade Candidate
The Pittsburgh Penguins are having a poor season and are seventh in the Metropolitan Division because of it. If they do not pick up their play, they will be sellers at the deadline, and one goalie who is becoming a trade candidate is Alex Nedeljkovic.
Nedeljkovic is a pending unrestricted free agent who could attract interest from playoff teams needing to improve their goalie depth. Some early potential landing spots for him include the Edmonton Oilers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Los Angeles Kings.
Nedeljkovic has been excellent as the Penguins' backup this season, as he has a .927 SV% and a 2.38 GAA in nine appearances thus far. While the sample size has been small, he appears to have regained his previous form, so teams should be keeping an eye on him.
We will need to wait and see if the Penguins end up moving Nedeljkovic before the season is over from here.
