Red Wings Place Forward On IR, Call Up Another

The Detroit Red Wings have placed forward Klim Kostin on injured reserve. With that, they have called up fellow forward Austin Czarnik to their NHL roster.

Kostin, 24, just came off of injured reserve a few days ago and appeared in two games for the Red Wings following it. However, he then took a heavy hit from Anaheim Ducks defenseman Radko Gudas on Dec. 18 and left the game with an injury. Now, we have confirmation that he will be forced to miss time.

Kostin has had a down season with the Red Wings so far, as he has just two goals and an assist in 23 games. Unfortunately, his bounce-back push will need to be put on pause due to this latest trip to the IR.

Czarnik, on the other hand, has appeared in 15 games this season with the Red Wings, where has one assist to go along with a minus-2 rating.
