Seattle Kraken Goaltender to Miss Time
The Seattle Kraken are down a goalie, as Philipp Grubauer has been placed on injured reserve.
Grubauer got injured in his start last night (Dec. 9) against the Tampa Bay Lightning and left the contest early because of it. Now, we have confirmation that he will need to miss at least a week of action with this IR placement.
Grubauer has appeared in 17 games this season, where he sports a 5-9-1 record, a .884 save percentage (SV%), and a 3.25 goals-against average (GAA). It has not been a good season for the 32-year-old, and this injury only adds more to his struggles.
The Kraken have called up Chris Driedger to their NHL roster because of Grubauer's injury, while defenseman Jaycob Megna has been activated to their active roster.
We will now need to keep an eye out for an update on Grubauer's expected recovery time and how well the Kraken do with Grubauer out of the lineup from here.
