Stars’ Jake Oettinger Leaves Game With Injury
Dallas Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger left the club’s contest against the Ottawa Senators early after suffering a lower-body injury.
Oettinger made an awkward save on Senators star forward Claude Giroux and immediately left the contest following it. The team later announced that he would not come back for the contest, and that certainly is concerning news.
Oettinger is a big reason for the Stars’ success, as he is an elite goaltender. The Stars will be hoping that his injury won’t force him to miss any more time, but time will tell what happens on that front.
If Oettinger is forced to miss time, the Stars will need to adjust without their starting netminder. With the Central Division being a close battle between the Stars, Colorado Avalanche, and Winnipeg Jets at the top of the standings, losing their goalie would certainly be bad.
We will now need to be on the lookout for an Oettinger injury update from here.
