Video: Red Wings' Larkin Suffers Scary Neck Injury, Perron Ejected During Aftermath
It was a scary scene in Motown on Saturday night after Detroit Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin got mixed up with a couple of Ottawa Senators and suffered an apparent neck injury in the melee.
Larkin, who has a long history with Senators forward Mathieu Joseph, received a punch to the back of the head from Joseph, which then sent him flying into another Sen, Parker Kelly.
Larkin has a history of neck injuries so everyone in the building was holding their breath. He was able to get helped off the ice after being face down and motionless for several moments. David Perron was one Wings teammate who did not like what he saw and immediately went after Senators defenseman Artem Zub. Perron was assessed a match penalty and ejected.
The Senators defeated the Red Wings 5-1 as the Wings will wait to hear how long Larkin is out for.
