Bruins Getting Big Boost for Matchup vs. Canadiens
The Boston Bruins will have several players return to their lineup for their game against the Montreal Canadiens. Defensemen Brandon Carlo (IR) and Derek Forbort (LTIR) have been activated, while Linus Ullmark and Matt Poitras are also set to return from their injuries.
The injury bug has been biting the Bruins big time as of late, so it is great news that a good portion of
their players are coming back against the Canadiens. Carlo and Forbort are key shutdown defensemen on their roster, while Poitras gives them another forward back to their top nine. As for Ullmark, the Bruins are getting the other half of their elite goaltending tandem back.
While the Bruins have been without these key players as of late, they are still doing quite well. They have won their last three games and six out of their last 10. With that, they remain at the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a 27-8-9 record and 63 points. Now they are hoping that these players returning will only lead to more success for them.
Carlo is expected to return to the Bruins' second pairing, while Forbort will be jumping back to their third pairing. Poitras will likely see time on their third line and could get reps back on their power play. Ultimately, these three skaters returning provides the Bruins with more depth, so it is great news for the club that is looking to stay hot.
