Bruins Rumors: Boston's GM Getting Aggressive in Trade Talks
The Boston Bruins are once again going for it this season and GM Don Sweeney is going to do whatever he can to upgrade his roster ahead of the March 8 trade deadline and set his team up for success.
Sweeney is looking to upgrade his forwards and would love to land a top-line center and a couple of bottom-six forwards to add some depth to his roster. The Bruins are basically set in goal and on defense, however do have several big question marks up front.
They've relied on some of their younger roster players to play more significant roles this season but it's becoming obvious that Sweeney would prefer to have more NHL experience up front. Elias Lindholm remains a top target as does Sean Monahan. There's also free-agent Corey Perry who would be an intriguing fit for the B's.
Boston is 25-8-9 on the season as they surpass the half-way mark and Sweeney has just over $1 million to work with in deadline cap space, so something's gotta give for him to be financially flexible enough to complete an impactful move.
