Canadiens Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Join Sean Monahan Sweepstakes
Sean Monahan is one of the top trade targets heading into the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline. It has been reported that the Colorado Avalanche and Winnipeg Jets are two teams linked to him, but more clubs are expected to enter the sweepstakes. Let's discuss three more clubs who are likely to target him now.
Boston Bruins: The Boston Bruins are a big team to watch in the Monahan sweepstakes. They need help down the middle, and Monahan would give them just that. He would be a strong fit in their middle six and also provide them with a boost on their power play. However, the one obstacle in a possible Monahan swap is that the Bruins and Habs are big-time rivals.
New York Rangers: The New York Rangers should be watched in the Monahan sweepstakes as well. Filip Chytil is out indefinitely, and there's a big hole down the middle for the Blueshirts because of it. Monahan could be a perfect addition for the 3C role and improve their forward group in the process.
Nashville Predators: The Nashville Predators are right in the playoff hunt, and they could be buyers at the deadline because of it. They could use another center in their middle six, so they are another club to pay attention to in the Monahan sweepstakes.
We will need to wait and see if any of these three teams land Monahan before the trade deadline passes from here.
